Hosts and Parasites
TicksOne relationship between hosts and parasites is the infamous tick. Ticks are found on a number of animals. Some are caribou, muskoxen, and arctic foxes. The tick doesn't hurt the host too much, but they can be fatal if they have a disease, or if there are many ticks on the host. If there are, then the host possibly could lose too much blood which would be risky.

TapewormsAnother example of hosts and parasites in the tundra biome are tapeworms. Caribou and wolves are the hosts and the parasites stay there until they die. They are in the host's intestines. The tapeworm takes many nutrients that the host needs. If the host had a good supply of food, then they can live a longer life, even with the tapeworm. However, if the food is scarce, and it is very difficult to get food, the host can die quickly.
